Articolo12 conducted the analysis of the written comments and observations received from Member States on the first draft of the revised “1974 Recommendation concerning education for international understanding, co-operation and peace and education relating to human rights and fundamental freedoms”. The analysis used a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches. Through the analysis, Articlo12 provided high-level expert advice to support UNESCO in the production of an updated version of the 1974 recommendation. The reviewed version includes a stronger focus on gender, climate change and sustainability, new understanding of peace, and more emphasis on Global Citizenship Education.
