THEMES

SEXUALITY EDUCATION
We think that every child and adolescent has the right to live her, his or their sexuality positively. An inclusive and holistic sexuality education that deals with relationships, values, culture, gender, violence, health and well-being as set out in the UNESCO Guidelines (2017) can support children in their present and future lives.

RIGHTS OF CHILDREN AND DIGITAL MEDIA
In a world where online and offline are understood as a continuum in the lives of all human beings, it is important to look at digital media through the lenses of children and adolescents’ rights. The Internet and the new technologies present difficult challenges for the protection of children and adolescents, but they also bring along enormous possibilities and opportunities to support their rights.

ENVIRONMENTAL RIGHTS OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS
Every child has the right to live and grow in a healthy environment and to be able to imagine and plan her, his or their own future. However environmental pollution and climate change jeopardise the physical and mental health of many children and adolescents and their future adult lives. The children of today will have to fight the consequences of unsustainable political and economic decisions in which they did not participate, but whose legacies will affect them first.
CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS ON THE MOVE
Many children live outside their country of origin. Some leave their countries of origin alone, some with their parents and families, others with neighbours or acquaintances. They migrate for different reasons and take different routes. Articolo12 believes that every child and adolescent has the right to move safely and especially that every migrant child is first and foremost a child – entitled to the rights enshrined in the UN Convention and in its General Comments n.22 and 23 (2017).
