TEAM: Maria Rosaria Centrone, Francesca Viola

We supported the advocacy initiatives of ten Brussels-based organisations working on children’s and adolescents’ rights. We carried out a situation analysis of children’s rights at EU level (internal and external policy), a stakeholders’ analysis, and a scenario analysis, with suggestions for advocacy priorities in view of the development of the EU Child Rights Strategy (2021-2024). The work involved key informants’ interviews with members of the EU Commission, the EU Parliament, international NGOs and proposed a specific analysis of strengths, gaps and opportunities for children’s rights in a large variety of thematic areas.

The work led to the writing of an internal and confidential report which has been used by the commissioning organisations as a basis for their Joint Position Paper on a Comprehensive Child Rights Strategy.
