During the Summer of 2021, we developed and implemented the project Songs for Rights – Italy together with YEPP EUROPE and the local organisations Associazione YEPP Albenga APS, Progetto Generazioni Monviso/Cooperativa Caracol, Associazione YEPP Falchera, and Associazione YEPP Langhe.
This project combines children’s rights and music for children and adolescents. Conducted in Piedmont and Liguria, it engaged more than 50 participants between 11 and 16 years old through four workshops, focusing on children’s rights and musical expression. Using a participatory approach, boys and girls created and recorded songs that reflect their local contexts and experiences. The final event, organised in Turin in December 2021, showcased the produced songs and video clips, promoting understanding and engagement with children’s rights in a creative manner.
